Neither the cold weather nor snow could prevent members of the Curry Rivel & District Twinning Association and their guests having a fun time on Friday 1st February.

Over 40 people attended its annual wine tasting evening, enjoying six types of wine from all corners of the world. Three whites and three reds were sampled, coming from France (naturellement!), Spain, Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Argentina. Plates of delicious home-made canap├ęs were also available.
As with previous wine tasting events everyone changed seats from time to time to chat to old friends and also meet new people. None-too-serious comments sheets were provided inviting members to guess the country of origin, type of grape and aromas and flavours — peach and pear seemed to be popular responses!
The successful evening, together with a raffle, helped the Twinning Association in its fundraising efforts.
