Forde Abbey, situated about 4 miles south east of Chard, is home to award-winning gardens with herbaceous borders, stylish topiary, an arboretum, bog garden and, closer to the house, a walled garden. Its displays of early Spring bulbs and camellias make this a garden for all seasons. It has both formal and wilder areas further from the house, with benches along the way to admire the views.
Come and listen to Dr Bygrave talk about this fascinating garden, described as a "stunning example of history preserved but not petrified".
