Some of these are preparatory works for the later resurfacing and will take place under multi-way traffic control, followed by the actual resurfacing works which, we are told, will result in some evening/night-time closures on the affected sections.

A378 Curry Rivel will be a designated diversion route for several of these works around Langport and Huish Episcopi so do be aware of the potential for additional traffic travelling through our village during the planned overnight closures – stated as being between 18.30 and 23.30.
Non-local or heavy traffic intending to travel through Langport eastbound will be diverted westwards along the A378 through Curry Rivel to join the A358 – turning right at Thornfalcon PFS, under the M5 to the A38 skirting around Monkton Heathfield to pick up the A361 at Somerset Camping and Caravans, through West Lyng, East Lyng and Burrowbridge, joining the A372 at Othery and, via Aller, arriving back in Langport by Shires Garage. Those wishing to reach Taunton from the west will follow the same diversion in reverse – a whopping 27 miles!
