Volunteers at the Curry Rivel, Drayton and Hambridge Food Bank are busy presenting festive hampers full of Christmas treats for the families that need our help.

What would be a useful additions to a hamper?

  • Small treats like nuts and snacks, cheese and cheese biscuits, tinned fruit and, in the last week running up to Christmas, some fresh fruit as well.
  • Toiletries are always welcome – especially for gentlemen, but don't let that stop you dropping in a treat for women and children too.
  • How about socks? Yes please, in men's, women's and kiddies' sizes – they are easy to tuck into a hamper as a little treat.

You can take your donations of non-perishable items to St Andrews Church, where there is a table to leave donations anytime the Church is open. You'll find it inside the North Chapel at the front of the Church on the left hand side. There is also a box in the porch at St Catherine's Church, Drayton where you can leave non perishable goods at any time. Please take fresh produce to St Andrew's on Wednesday morning between 10.30 and 11.30 where someone will be on hand to deal with it
same day.

Cash donations can be taken by volunteers on site during the usual Wednesday morning opening hours. The Food Bank does have a bank account and if you'd prefer to donate remotely or anonymously or in a way that may be more convenient for you, banking details can be given out for a one off donation or to set up a standing order to make regular donations. Just call 01458 250997 or 07714 265384 or ask at the Food Bank for details.

See how easy it is to share a little joy!
