Coronation 1953

I have a good memory of the day.

I was living in the small hamlet of New Cross, next to the former fruit farm, where I was born.

My grandmother had a cottage there and my parents, my sister and I all lived there with her.
Like most families we had no telly at that time, but the farm milker had a small TV set in his bungalow.

Most of us piled in there, filled his front room and watched it on a very small black and white screen.
