The Old School Room provides a cosy venue which can seat up to 80 people, and is suitable for a wide range of uses from Pilates, meetings and children's' groups, to parties and special occasions. This is the Church hall and it is situated behind Curry Rivel's St. Andrew's Church, near the village green.
The Old School Room has been recently restored to create a beautiful, atmospheric space. It features old roof timbers, cosy window seats, and warm red brick walls. A newly refurbished kitchen lies off to one end, fully equipped with matching crockery and cutlery and supplied with a dishwasher.
The hall and toilets are wheelchair accessible.
The hall was restored through local efforts, no mean feat. Curry Rivel residents demonstrated their support by giving a staggering £6000 through an envelope door-drop, and this unlocked other funds such as the Big Lottery. Many private donations, car boot sales, coffee mornings, village fetes and other grants later, and over £100.000 was raised. All thanks to the generosity and efforts of local people.
Please note that local caterers are on hand to provide food for events if people booking the hall prefer not to do their own catering.
