Drive it Day 2024

What is Drive It Day?

National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005. It is the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large have the opportunity to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. It's also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads.

When?

This year's event takes place on Sunday 21st April 2024

Where?

Nationally – you choose where you want to go; take it around the block or down to the beach

Why?

This year's drive it day is organised in support of NSPCC Childline. Please visit the website for more details on how to support the event

How?

Just polish off your old (roadworthy!) jallopy and take it for a drive

We are lucky here in Curry Rivel and surrounds that we have so many opportunities to take our classic and historic vehicles to local meets, organised in various venues from pubs to farm shops, village fetes, festivals and craft fairs. We also have access to a good selection of generalist and specialist vehicle clubs – Ed being treasurer of one with a healthy local membership!
