We have a report from the Tuesday Group and news of the upcoming meeting on 19th Feb 2019.

It was so good to welcome so many to our first meeting of the New Year........a record number for the the Jan Annual General Meeting, but perhaps it was the draw of the Quiz that was to follow!!

Tuesday Group

With speed we dealt with the AGM business, confirming the current Committee to remain in situ. With no official Treasurer currently in post, the accounts are being very efficiently looked after by a past Treasurer. During a brief report it was pleasing to note that with a healthy balance of £963.64, we were once again able to make a charity donation of £200. Five charities were suggested, and following a show of hands, the donation this year was given to the Active Living Group in Curry Rivel.

After a couple of other notices, including outlining the full programme for the year, the fun began with the quiz. Expertly devised and compared by Dave Moore, this was a most enjoyable experience, giving our little grey cells an hour of thought, wonderment and hilarity.........and lots of heckling, of course! The 'Gold Finches' were the winning team and were presented with some chocolates for their endeavours! Dave had kindly waived any fee for his evening's work, asking that £50 be given to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance instead. He was, however, presented with a bottle of wine as a thank you. The usual light refreshments ended a very satisfactory evening.

Our next meeting is fast approaching on Tues 19th Feb, when we have a Line Dancing demo, so ladies, do come and give us a try!

The Tuesday Group is a ladies social group drawing from Drayton, Curry Rivel, Muchelney, Fivehead, Langport and beyond, and usually meets on the third Tuesday each month at 7.30 pm in the Drayton Village Hall (there are a couple of exceptions!). Annual membership is only £10, or come and try for a guest fee of just £2.50 per meeting. For further information please contact either Barbara Lancey on 01458 252657, email barbaralancey@hotmail.com, or Aideen Roche on 01458 252022, email aideenroche@btinternet.com.
