So the SSDC Langport Community Support Office is gone, below is the response from the SSDC:
'The Langport Community Office has now closed and the decision was taken by Councillors at the September Area North Committee meeting. The minutes of that particular item of the meeting and the decision taken can be found here — http://modgov.southsomerset.gov.uk/mgAi.aspx?ID=10158
Many thanks, Martin — Comms Team'
In the words of SSDC:
'The community offices provide a face to face service and enables customers to receive advice and assistance to many SSDC services, as well as the ability to refer or signpost to other agencies where necessary. They ensure vulnerable members of the community and those who find it difficult or unable to contact the council by other means are able to fully access our services.'
So if you live in Langport or the surrounding areas and you are 'vulnerable' and find it difficult or are unable to contact the council by other means..... Bad Luck....Also thanks for the transparency and openess in making the decision to close the office known.
