Today saw the removal of the old community shop (housed in an adapted storage container for the last 5 years) . The new shop and café is now open for business and we understand that the old storage container is to be re-used at Kingsbury School.
10 years in the planning, Kingsbury Episcopi Community Centre is almost ready to open its doors for business. The fun starts on Saturday 8th April 2017. A week of taster sessions, presentations and events for all to enjoy is planned in readiness for the opening extravaganza.
Facilities on offer include changing rooms, community hall, commercial kitchen and bar, meeting room, outdoor play and exercise equipment, football pitches, Multi Use Games Area, a large car park, a well-stocked Community Shop and Café offering refreshments and delicious light bites.
But we in Curry Rivel wouldn't swap the Robert Sewers Village Hall, vastly undersized for a Village of our size, with it's lack of flexibility and functionality for an all singing and dancing, fit for purpose. modern village hall with adequate parking provision..... would we?
