Road closures due to Gigaclear

This notice affects the SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL DISTRICT OF SOUTH SOMERSET, PARISHES OF CHAFFCOMBE, CHILLINGTON, CURRY RIVEL, DINNINGTON, DONYATT, FIVEHEAD, ISLE ABBOTTS, KNOWLE ST GILES, LOPEN. SOUTH PETHERTON AND WEST CREWKERNE
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES

TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended, the County Council of Somerset propose to make an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along

Moortown Lane, Curry Rivel and Fivehead – from the junction with Langport Road to the junction with Currymead Lane, a distance of 1500 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 26th February 2019 for 14 days.

Islemoor Road, Fivehead, Isle Brewers & Isle Abbots – from the junction with North Bradon Lane to the junction with Swell Lane, a distance of 2300 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 13th March 2019 for 11 days.

Knowle Church Road, Knowle St Giles- Junction with Cricket Lane to the junction with Pinkham Hill, a distance of 1450 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 24th January 2019 for 7 days.

Chilworthy Lane, Donyatt- From its junction with Bell Lane to its junction with Peasmarsh Farm Lane to Stibbear Lane, a distance of 1680 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 25th January 2019 for 7 days.

Rydon Lane, Lopen- From its junction with Church Street from the side of the Church to o/s Hazelwood House to Rydon Lane, a distance of 100 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 25th February 2019 for 2 days.

Church Hill, Dinnington- From the junction with Brimclose Road to Intersection with Combe Road, a distance of 155 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 25th February 2019 for 3 days.

South Harp, South Petherton – From its junction with Yeabridge Lane to its junction with Bull Bridge Lane and Lopen Lane, a distance of 680 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 25th February 2019 for 12 days.

This order will enable Gigaclear to carry out a rolling programme of underground cabling works with clearing of potential duct (pipe) blockages in this road.

The Order becomes effective on 17 th January 2019 and will remain in force for eighteen months. While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed as detailed below.

This Order is required to facilitate highway works and is necessary for the safety of the workforce whilst carrying out their duties. The restriction shall apply when indicated by traffic signs.
