More Local Diversions in new year due to Gigaclear

Somerset County Council has issued notices of road closures and diversions due to road works during January , February March 2019.
These will affect the parishes of SOUTH PETHERTON, LOPEN, WEST CREWKERNE, FIVEHEAD, DONYATT, DOWLISH, MISTERTON, CURRY RIVAL (SCC spelling mistake) HAMBRIDGE & WESTPORT AND DRAYTON

This order will enable Gigaclear to carry out a rolling programme of underground cabling works with clearing of potential duct (pipe) blockages in this road.

The most local road works are:

Crabtree Lane, Curry Rivel and Hambridge and Westport – Junction Currymead Lane to Junction Hambridge, a distance of 1400 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 23rd March for 12 days.

Midelney Road, Drayton – Junction of Croftland Lane to full extent, a distance of 1500 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 3
rd April for 14 days.

Lower Swell, Fivehead – Junction Higher Swell to Bridleway L11/53, a distance of 250 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 15th January for 7 days.

Yeabridge Lane, Yeabridge – Junction with Fosse Way to Junction with South Harp, a distance of 750 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 7 th January for 10 days.

Fosse Way, Hinton St George – Junction with Holloway to Outside Beauregard, a distance of 200 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 8th January for 6 days.

Woolminstone Road, West Crewkerne – Junction of Stakers Cross Lane to the Junction of Hewish Lane, a distance of 1000 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 14th January for 10 days.

Fosse Way, South Petherton – Junction Over Stratton Road to Junction with Drayton Farm Lane, a distance of 1520 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 18th January for 14 days.

Church Street, Ilminster – Junction with Donyatt Hill to Junction Park Lane, a distance of 177 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 23rd January for 7 days.

Pound Lane, Ilminster – Junction with Donyatt Hill to Outside Little Wakefield, a distance of 75 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 23rd January for 5 days.

Seaborough Hill, West Crewkerne – Junction of Henley Cross to Outside Seaborough Hill, a distance of 1029 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 24th January for 10 days.

Apple Close, Dowlish Wake – Junction Main Street to Outside 9 Apple Close, a distance of 75 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 24th January for 4 days.

Knowle Lane, Mosterton – Junction with Seaborough Road to Outside Badgers Glory House, a distance of 340 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 14th February for 5 days.

The Order becomes effective on 27 th December 2018 and will remain in force for eighteen months. While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed

This Order is required to facilitate highway works and is necessary for the safety of the workforce whilst carrying out their duties. The restriction shall apply when indicated by traffic signs.
