Each summer hundreds of green-fingered, community-spirited volunteers up and down the country go blooming mad for the RHS Britain in Bloom competition.
Villages, towns and cities across Britain unite to put on a fantastic floral show to impress the judges who are touring the country now to decide on the winners of categories such as best village, town, city and urban community.
Last year Curry Rivel in Bloom won Gold in the regional South West in Bloom, not only did they win a stunning gold, they also won the Cox Cup for the Best Large Village in the South West. The CRiB Team, who had still been reeling from the delight and shock of these two marvellous outcomes, had to step up twice more to pick up the Michael McGahey Trophy, for 'exceptional community effort' and were joint winners of the Sargent Trophy, shared with Falmouth for "outstanding effort and dedication".
