This weekend (28th April) the village received 37 visitors including 12 children from our Twin community, Chevilly, near Orléans, France. Hosts in the local area offered hospitality and on Saturday entertained their guests with visits to our lovely Somerset places of interest. Saturday evening was party night with competitions for a decorated hat, lively disco music and delicious food. The Guides served and washed up very efficiently.
On Sunday, a Big Breakfast was on offer and then we all went to Exeter! It rained heavily but we were safe inside the Cathedral listening to our guided tours! After that, we enjoyed the delights of the city — shopping, the Quayside area and the restaurants.
Bank Holiday Monday saw an early morning departure by our visitors, many friendships having been formed and re-kindled. Next year will mark the 20th Anniversary of the Twinning Charter. Au revoir et à la prochaine!
