The Pumping Station Museum, a small industrial heritage museum, houses Somerset's earliest steam-powered pumping station, built in 1831 to control the flooding and draining of low lying fields. Built of brick, it is the only one surviving in the area with its pumping engine still functional. It is a Grade II* listed building and a registered charity run by unpaid volunteers. It relies solely on income from visitors, subscriptions and donations. You can find out more about the pumping station and when you can visit plus information on forthcoming events here
