Members of the Curry Rivel and District Twinning Association gathered together on 28th April for an evening social – the first since the pandemic and various lockdowns. The event was organised as a "bring-and-share" get together with members providing a delicious array of meat, fish and salad dishes as well as desserts and, of course, not forgetting the odd glass of wine.
Around 20 people attended the gathering which was organised to thank Barbara Hamlin for having steered the association as Chairperson for over 20 years. Barbara stepped down from her valuable role two years ago but, sadly, Covid prevented members being able to say an enormous "thank you" for all her dedicated and tireless work in coordinating the twinning organisation. Over the years the bond between the two communities of Curry Rivel and Chevilly in France has gone from strength to strength with many firm and lasting friendships having been formed.
In recognition of all her hard work Barbara was presented with theatre vouchers and a bouquet from members of the Twinning Association. There was also a bouquet from our Chevilly friends as well as moving tributes from members of both communities.
