Sad to learn that Curry Rivel Entertainers won't be putting on a panto this season.
Our neighbouring village of Fivehead is gearing up to begin rehearsals again. Its twice cancelled panto, Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Basketcases was dogged by disaster, being postponed once because of an upsurge in Covid cases and then again as a result of cast illness – or in one case, accident. All are now thankfully recovered so I am asked to tell you that;
But it has lost a couple of its regular cast members and crew so if you've ever fancied a bit of acting, singing, dancing, playing your instrument or helping backstage, the Fivehead Drama Group would love to hear from you.
No previous experience required, any age, it prides itself on its inclusivity – the group ranges in age from 8 to 80. Everyone is welcome from near or far.
Fivehead has amused the village with a pantomime almost every year since the 1940s – some might say a few of the cast were actually in it then! And I am assured the Drama Group has lots of fun. It also claims to occasionally entertain people. But that's surely a matter of opinion!
Tempted? Go on, give it a try. You can do no damage by ringing or emailing Kevin, Harry or Pip to find out more.
