Cups and awards were presented by the Flower Show president Tim Schroder, before a paying public of 150 people, including many children. Many thanks to Mike Mason for photos of the displays and prize winners.
Huge thanks must go to those who help run the show, assist the judges in their marking, run the raffle, bake and sell cream teas, cakes, etc and still find time to enter the show themselves.
Before the prize giving and fantastic raffle, Flower Show stalwart of many years, Anne Pouncey, presented a cheque for £300 to Steve Allinson, gratefully accepted on behalf of the Curry Rivel, Drayton & Hambridge Food Bank.
Annette Stein (Top Vase), Kath Thornton (Flowers), Rod Williams (Vegetables), Nicola Barker (Orchid), Steve Allinson (Fruit), Elizabeth Leigh (Baking, etc), Gillie Purves (Decorative), Joan Chapman (Painting), Stuart Cave (Photography), Joan Chapman (Painting), Irene Drew & Joan Chapman (Craft), Henry Spencer (9-12s), Maddie Barker (Under 9s)
As well as being good fun, it can be wonderful for one's mental and physical health; or you could come and help with running next year's show! We would like to attract more entries for the young. Maybe you can think of ways to help with that and other aspects of the show.
