Celebrating Catch The Bus Month

September is Catch The Bus Month, organised by Bus Users UK. This is a national campaign to raise awareness of just how good value "BUSSING IT" is given it's only a £2 for a single journey that could be as long as the NEW 50 mile journey from Yeovil to Bristol ... or taking a trip on the open-topped Exmoor Coaster, surely one of the most spectaculars bus rides in the country.

Somerset Bus Partnership and its dozen Bus User Groups will run some 35+ bus stalls to promote Catch the Bus Month. That's more bus events for Catch the Bus Month than happens in any other county. Why do we back Catch The Bus Month so strongly? Because faced with the 'financial emergency' declared by Somerset Council, we know the only way to keep and improve our bus services is to encourage as many people as possible to use them ... and as often as possible too.

'BUSSING IT' at £2 per single trip not only makes financial sense, it's also better for the planet plus it helps your community because it means bus services will continue for those who have no access to a car, whether they're young or old, and hence are dependent on our buses to get around.

Our local bus services here in Somerset not only connect villages and towns in Somerset, many of our bus routes go over the border to connect with towns and villages in Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire as well as with Bath and Bristol.

We want to ensure that Somerset's bus network is not only maintained but gets ever better. That's why Somerset Bus Partnership backs Catch the Bus Month.
