The Village Hall AGM was held on Wednesday 16th November. It was a good turnout with more than 30 people present. Outgoing Chairman, Derek Yeomans, received a warm vote of thanks for his sterling work over the past 12 years. The reins were passed to Greg Phillips and a new committee elected alongside him. His inaugural address spoke of his passion for the village hall which he said was at the heart of the community. He said the initial focus of the committee would be to address the issues raised in the recent survey. The re-decoration of the hall is nearing completion and other aspects of the fabric of the building would be addressed over time. The main thrust though, he said, would be to encourage groups, of all sorts, to use the hall to its maximum capacity bringing back a sense of community to the heart of Curry Rivel.A new committee was elected as follows Elected members - Greg Phillips – Chair. Madelaine King-Oakley – Deputy Chair. Debbie Haines, David Wilkes, Ron Harding, Roger Chadborne, Myfanwy Ashton - Treasurer Add this page to your favorite Social Bookmarking websites |
