The Parish Council is made up from elected and unpaid representatives who live in Curry Rivel.  They meet monthly, and the public is welcomed at all their meetings.  Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month in the Robert Sewers Village Hall.

A copy of meeting Minutes, and Agendas, is available on this website so that you can see what they have been discussing.  You will also find on this site Planning Reports discussed each month so that you can see what building is planned in the village.  Reports are received from several groups, eg. the local Police, and you will find a direct link to their website and the current Crime Statistics for the village.

Young people at pizza eveningClare Simpson and Madelaine King-Oakley, Parish Councillors, invited our young people to come and talk about what they'd like in the village.  Over pizza and chips, ideas included a youth shelter and a cafe, and a follow-up meeting will be held in June.

If your home is un-insulated, you could be losing as much as 75 per cent of the heat you pay for through walls, ceilings and draughts.

That’s according to figures from the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE), who suggest that un-insulated homes can lose up to 35 per cent of heat through walls, 25 per cent through roofs and a further 15 per cent through draughts.

Yet for the vast majority of properties, measures to reduce these losses are easily available and often free to install – and across Somerset, more people than ever before can now benefit from free and discounted loft and cavity wall insulation.

Somerset Recycling and Refuse Collection Update - Thursday 7th January

Snow across Somerset on Tuesday night forced suspension of waste and recycling collection services on Wednesday.

A limited service has recommenced today (Thursday) but a thaw is unlikely over the next few days at least, so it is likely there will be further delays before we reach many areas. To avoid danger  to our operatives and to the general public and their property, collections will now focus on highways and pavements that are safely accessible only.  Realistically this will mean roads that have been gritted.  If you live on gritted roads you should present your waste and recyclable materials for collection.
