Nearly Local man, Bill Langford of Langport was conkered out of the World Conker Championships. Bill was Somerset's representative at the 51st championships in the Northampton Village of Southwick on Sunday (9th Oct 2016).

Mr Langford didn't get beyond the second round — but he has the comfort of knowing he did go out to the eventual women's world champion, Lorna Clarke.
