Over the past year, the fundraising efforts of the PTA have meant that the children on the local school have been able to benefit from many great learning opportunities and experiences which they would otherwise not have had, and we have big plans for the year ahead. As another school year gets well and truly underway, there have been some inevitable changes to the school PTA. The group has taken on a new name - Friends of Curry Rivel Primary School, to broaden our support throughout the local community and to former pupils of the school. To mark this, we have set up a Facebook page, which will keep you up-to-date on all events , and should provide a forum for comments and shared information. Simply search for “Friends of Curry Rivel Primary School” on Facebook and click “like”. You may also wish to share the link with friends who have attended the school in the past – we would certainly like to reach as many former pupils as possible too. Friday 25th November – Winter Craft Fayre. 3pm-5pm Please come and join us for our Winter Craft Fayre. There will be craft stalls with lots of local Christmas present ideas, and entertainment for the children, plus refreshments and the chance to win some lovely prizes. With the children helping to man stalls, make Christingles, and provide refreshments, the whole school will be involved. If you would be interested in having a stall at the fayre, the cost is just £10 – please contact the school. Otherwise we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day. Please remember us when you’re doing your Christmas shopping online. Lots of retailers are happy to give a commission back to the school on purchases you make, and it costs you nothing!! All you have to do is click the link from the school’s website (www.curryrivelprimary.co.uk) and find the retailer you are interested in. These include, Bench, B&Q, Boden, White Stuff, Asda, Fatface, Zavvi, Boots, Butlins, Haven Holidays, Cadbury, Comet, Debenhams, Dell, Currys, Woolworths, WH Smith, Whittards, Wilkinson...........and hundreds more! There are still a few numbers left on our monthly “Play 4 Pounds Draw” where you can win generous cash prizes for an outlay of just £1 per number, per month. Applications are available from the school office and the Post Office. Thank you for your support and here’s to another successful year of fundraising.
