Somerset College are offering FREE flexible courses Print E-mail

Somerset College are offering FREE flexible courses in both Maths and English leading towards a nationally recognised qualification at either Level 1 or Level 2 (equivalent to a grade C in GCSE). Perhaps you would like to build your confidence or just 'brush up' your skills in Maths and English, especially if your child is at or will be starting primary or secondary school. Sometimes your child's homework can feel as if it is written in a foreign language!

The qualifications can also help improve your employment prospects as they highly valued by employers.

We offer flexible teaching hours, including evenings. Group numbers are often small affording the support you need and you learn in a very relaxed environment.

Why not contact us for an informal chat and maybe arrange an appointment to come along and see us to find out what we do.

Remember the courses are completely FREE – there are no hidden costs.

Contact Gail, Karen or Victoria at Somerset College on 01823 366462 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for further information.

A message from the Head of our local centre of secondary education - Graham Roff 'An outstanding school Our school continues to go from strength to strength. Having been identified by Ofsted in March 2007 we moved on to gain recognition by the DCSF as a ‘High Performing Specialist School’ and were granted permission to develop a Sixth Form. Building work is now underway and will be completed next summer in time for the opening of ‘Huish Sixth’ in September 2010. We are working with our students to finalise the curriculum that we will offer and have already begun to recruit new staff.' www.huishepiscopi.net

The College has a reputation both regionally and nationally as a very successful provider of education and training, and is a recognised Beacon College, one of only a handful of Ofsted designated Outstanding Colleges, and has four Centres of Vocational Excellence. It has also been awarded eleven Beacon awards in recent years and recently achieved the matrix Standard for information, advice and guidance services. Our examination and course results consistently place us among the top, if not the best, of all education providers in Somerset. Bridgwater College caters for over 20,000 full and part-time students, and over 1,000 staff are employed by the College. The student population comprises over 3,000 16-18 year olds, as well as over 500 students following higher education programmes. www.bridgwater.ac.uk
