A day at Warwick CastleAfter an unearthly early start and 3 hour coach trip our small (but enthusiastic) URC sunday school group arrived at Warwick castle, welcomed by vociferous tail displaying peacocks, to join with around two thousand other URC young ( and young at heart ) folk on a warm sunny day in May. There was so much to see and do - fiery canonball firing catapult, the views from atop the towers(over 530 steps!), the walk-through 'Kingmaker' display with such lifelike wax models you could not be absolutely sure which were actors , which were not.Dressing up at Warwick Castle (I'm sure the King's horse winked at me!), have-a-go archery, have-a-go rat throwing (!), eavesdropping on the guests at the Royal Party's weekend stay, the birds of prey display (the 8 foot wingspan of the sea eage was truly awesome) and of course the wonderful grounds, gardens and river to enjoy. We may only be a few at Curry Rivel URC Sunday School but it was affirming to find ourselves part of a much bigger movement of young people. And to top it all-a great day out.

The children are off to the Brewhouse Theatre for their trip in 2011. During February halfterm they will be going to see 'The Elves and the Shoemaker'

matinee performance followed by tea back in Curry Rivel. Watch this space for their comments about their trip.
