The club completed another successful season at the end of April. Short Mat Bowls Singles Winner 2010 Julia JewellThe club was formed in 1986 and will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary this coming season.  We have recently received a very welcome grant from the Somerset Community Grassroots Foundation which will enable us to purchase a badly needed new mat roller. In addition to the weekly Club sessions we also enjoyed friendly matches against clubs from surrounding areas. The Annual Dinner was held on June 29th when presentations were made to the winners of the club competitions:

  • The Singles competition was won by Julia Jewell, Runner up, Alan Price.
  • The Harry Rule Pairs. Won by Sheila Harding and Peter Drain.  Runners up, Alan Price and Moira Gridley.
  • The Club Pairs. Won by Alan Price and Joy Lewis.  Runners up, Mike Ashton and Barry White.
  • The Triples. Won by Peter Drain, Joy Lewis, Bill Powell.   Runners up, Percy and Gloria Day, Moira Gridley.
  • The Friendly Trophy was won by Victor Jewell.
  • The Club Ladder competition won by Desmond Perrett.
  • The Trophys were presented by Daphne Perrett who congratulated all who took part.

The New season commences on TUESDAY 14th September at 7p.m. in the village hall. Come along, new members are always welcome, whether experienced or new to the game. Bowls are available with friendly help and advice.  For more details about our Club contact: Desmond Perrett 01458 251774.
