The twinning committee has emerged form its summer hibernation or should that be recess to devise the new season’s social events calendar. First up on the menu is a Spanish Wine Tasting Evening on Saturday 15 October in the Village Hall at 7.30pm. Following the success of last year’s French evening we have invited Cornhill Wines of Ilminster again to host the evening when a selection of Spanish wines plus food will be served. Wine notes will be given and the chef will demonstrate a couple of the recipes. Tickets for this event are available in advance from any committee member. To follow on Friday 25 November the village hall will be the venue for one of our very popular Quiz evenings. The quiz will start at 7.30 and will follow the usual format of bring your own drinks and nibbles. The recent Village Hall fundraising quiz should have whetted your appetite and sharpened your wits so come along and try to improve your score or if you won, try to repeat your success. In the New Year we are planning a Beetle Drive and have invited Murder to Measure to devise and run another hilarious Murder Mystery evening for us. Twinners from Curry Rivel will be visiting France next year between 3 and 7 May, the trip details and further details of events will be published in future editions of the Curry Rivel News and will also be available on the village website. New members are always welcome just contact our membership secretary, Victoria Fransham on 01460 28190 |

The Association aims to promote and foster friendship and understanding between the people of Curry Rivel and our twinned village of Chevilly in the Loiret region of France.
Exchange visits occur annually in Curry Rivel or Chevilly. The Association encourages visits by individuals and groups particularly children and young people, and the development of personal contacts in order to broaden the mutual understanding of the cultural, recreational, educational and commercial activities of the linked communities.
Membership is open to anyone in sympathy with our aims and a varied social programme which includes quizzes, wine tasting, murder mystery evenings and skittles is offered.
